At CrossFit Vastus, our HYROX classes offer a dynamic and inclusive environment designed to enhance your fitness through a blend of running and functional workout stations. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or new to fitness, our classes are structured to accommodate all levels, ensuring everyone can participate and progress at their own pace.
What is HYROX?
HYROX is a global fitness race that combines eight 1km runs with eight functional workout stations, creating a comprehensive test of endurance, strength, and determination. The standardised format allows participants worldwide to compete under the same conditions, making it a unique and accessible challenge for all fitness enthusiasts.

Our HYROX Classes
We offer four distinct HYROX class types, each targeting specific aspects of fitness to prepare you for the demands of a HYROX event. The classes change from day-to-day and week-to-week so they are always different ensuring they keep you challenged both mentally and physically:
1. Foundational – An interval-based class focusing on strength, power, muscular endurance, aerobic capacity, skills, and agility. This class aims to create a well-rounded fitness foundation suitable for all skill levels.
2. Power – Centred on traditional strength training, this class includes various workout formats such as AMRAPS (As Many Reps As Possible), strength intervals, and partner workouts to develop overall strength.
3. Engine – Designed to enhance endurance, this class incorporates aerobic capacity, lactate threshold, muscular endurance, and speed drills, making you a faster runner and improving performance on machines.
4. Complete – A comprehensive workout regimen that addresses all aspects of physical well-being, focusing on aerobic capacity and the ability to function under significant duress, preparing you for the specific demands of a HYROX race.
Class Structure
We hold HYROX classes regularly throughout the week. Each HYROX class is one hour long and includes:
• Warm-up – Activities such as Cat-Cow stretches, KB Rack Carries, and Divebomber Push-ups to prepare your body for the workout.
• Workout – Structured intervals targeting different fitness zones. For example, a Foundational class might include:
• Zone 1: DB Clusters and 100M Run
• Zone 2: Underhand Sled Push and KB Halo/Goblet Squats
• Zone 3: DB Bench Press and SkiErg Sprint
• Zone 4: DB Tightrope Deadlifts and Lateral Jump Burpees
• Zone 5: Rowing and Sandbag Zercher Lunges
• Cool Down – Exercises like Downward Dog gas pedals and Cobra stretches to aid recovery.
